Network Exploitation couldn’t get in to the reactor. Firewalls. Airgap. EVERYTHING connects to the Internet at some point, they said. They just couldn’t find where. They did find shipping orders, preferred manufacturers. Hardware. EVERYTHING needs computers.

A flight. A passport with someone else’s name in it. A meeting in Shengzen. Money – and altered motherboard specs – for a shift foreman at a Foxconn factory.

It took two months for the equipment to arrive, but once it was plugged in, the boards called home.

A few keystrokes.

Boom.

No press. Can’t complain about the loss of a reactor you never officially had.
