a little background:

@d20Blonde
I, for one, am dying to know a little about how @Jennisodes started gaming (not just how she started podcasting).

@Jennisodes
@d20Blonde I got into gaming through my friends running a 3.5 game on a forum. Then played some in real life

@d20Blonde
When did @Jennisodes start, anyway?

@Jennisodes
@d20Blonde I started putting out weekly episode in Sept 2010

her favorite class to play?

@Jennisodes
@deadorcs I love playing magic users. It’s my first choice most of the time

more about the podcast:

@d20Blonde
@Jennisodes Were you involved at all in podcasting before you started gaming?

@Jennisodes
@d20Blonde We started the forum game about a year before my friends started Trapcast and then I joined that show first

@d20Blonde
@Jennisodes How has your format changed over time?

@Jennisodes
@d20Blonde not too much has changed after the first ten episodes. Always the main gaming part a corner and then the rate it section

some questions about techniques of podcasting:

@TheNerdWord
@Jennisodes as a podcaster, what is your preferred length of podcast? I feel that if it goes on to long it just drags.

‏@Jennisodes
@TheNerdWord I like to keep mine between 30-60 minutes depending on the guest. Some guests can be interesting no matter how long

@Genesisoflegend
.@Jennisodes How do you select your guests for your podcast? Do you seek them out or do they contact you?

@Jennisodes
@Genesisoflegend A little bit of both. I watch the twitters and meet people at conventions. I’m booked through July now!

@ripcrd
RT @GM_Lockhart: @Jennisides How did you start getting the word out when you just started your podcast?

‏@Jennisodes
@GM_Lockhart I was already on Trapcast so I brought some fans along, spreading the word through social media helped, conventions to

@d20Blonde
Great question! RT @TheNerdWord: @jennisodes any advice for a novice podcaster? Whats the best way to get a good fanbase?

@Jennisodes
@d20Blonde a notebook. I keep a schedule and write a lot of notes to myself

‏@ripcrd
Did I miss what software was used to record/edit? #nerd question

@Jennisodes
@ripcrd I use the program called Cubase to record and edit. I record through skype

@ripcrd
@d20Blonde I like that I can connect w the podcasters as 1 of those 10s of listeners. Many hv been great. Im not afraid 2 reach out

‏@Jennisodes
@ripcrd many podcasters are also listeners. podcasting is a social thing. not just two people in a room by themselves

advice for podcasters starting out, and gamers in general:

@d20Blonde
Things’re winding down, but I’d love to know, @Jennisodes, what your advice is to other would-be podcasters?

@Jennisodes
@d20Blonde enjoy being a gamer. there are so many new games coming out. interact and keep doing awesome shows

the conversation veered into playing RPGs on Twitter ….

‏@piratechan
Speaking of social media, has anyone tried a Play-by-Tweet game?

@BeefGriller
Doh! How could @tw33t_rpg slipped my mind! RT @EricMPaq:@piratechan You should check out @tw33t_rpg He runs rpg via twitter.

@ripcrd
@piratechan oh yeah, or character names in hashtags

@piratechan
@ripcrd Oh! I love the Character Hashtag idea. That way you could do multiple characters per player… Oooh, maybe Animal Crime..
